We are a family run hobby breeding kennel and our dogs are truly part of our everyday life. They grow up in a busy household where they are handled, loved, spoiled and socialised from the very beginning. This helps ensure our puppies are confident, affectionate, and ready to settle into family life at their new homes!

We don’t take what we do lightly. Having experienced first hand what it can be like to bring a dog home from a poor breeding situation and understanding the challenges some families face when a dog hasn’t had the right start. We are deeply committed to doing things differently. That experience shaped everything about how we raise our puppies and dogs today.

All breeding dogs are fully health tested, including hip and elbow scoring, to promote strong, healthy bloodlines and responsible breeding practices. Melschwarz Kennel offer life time breeder support for the puppies and their families! 

We also understand how important rescue and rehoming can be but we know that whether a dog comes from a breeder or elsewhere, the early foundations they receive makes a lifelong difference to their health, temperament, and behaviour. That’s why we place such strong focus on responsible, thoughtful breeding and early socialisation protocols.

Our puppies benefit from Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) which is a gentle programme we follow from the first few days of life that supports healthy development, resilience and confidence. Alongside this we carefully introduce early socialisation, handling, and exposure to everyday household sounds and experiences.

Health and temperament are at the heart of every decision we make. Our sire and dam dogs are carefully selected and health tested and our puppies are raised with attention to both their physical wellbeing and emotional development. We want every puppy to leave us with the best possible start in life and every family to feel fully supported long after they go home. 

For us, it’s not just about breeding dogs. It’s about helping families find a companion that truly fits into their lives and carefully selecting suitable homes for each of our puppies to ensure both families and the puppies recieve lots of joy for years to come.
